How do I sign up for Zoom classes with you?
It's easy, but you must make a Zoom account in order to participate - the links don't work otherwise! Simply go to Zoom.Us and create your free Zoom account. Once you've created an account, you can go to our Virtual Schedule before the start of class, click on the link posted for the class, follow the prompts, and be brought directly to the class/meeting when it is in progress.

When can I join the class? And, can I ask the teacher questions?
We will open the virtual class 5-10 minutes before the posted start time, so that students can sign on and settle in and say "hello".
Right before we start class, students will be asked to mute their devices, as the recording might not work effectively if anyone but the teacher speaks during the class. If you have any questions, the teacher will be able to address them at the end of class, or you can use the chat function on the Zoom system.

Do other folks have to see me, or can I participate anonymously?
If you're shy, Zoom offers participants the option to shut off your video, although some of our teachers will teaching by actually observing your practice as they guide you through class. We are going to ask that you DO mute your own audio, too, so that your space doesn't interfere with the class once it starts, especially if you're in a place where it might get loud.

Can I join a virtual class after it starts?
Absolutely, just enter the virtual classroom space quietly and mute your device. Teachers will open the virtual class 5-10 minutes before the posted start time for a little meet and greet. Try to join us within a few minutes before the start of a virtual class to say "hello", but no later than 15 minutes after the start.

I already have a class card at AYN. May I use it towards these online classes in lieu of donations?
Yes, that would be great if you wish to do that. Click here to see if you had an unexpired card at our studio - we are asking that students apply these credits to our online classes using the honor system - that is, YOU keep track, just as we did in our physical studio.

Can I use a tablet or smartphone?
Yes, Zoom has apps for these devices, too, that you can download and sign in on.

It's great you're doing this. How can I help if I don't have a class card with you?
We accept donations for drop ins to our virtual classes in any amount - click the button below to donate if you've taken a class, or simply want to help us sustain our physical studio during the pandemic. But, if this is impossible for you, please join us gratis/free, as we want to serve all who are in need of community and yoga practice, regardless of their ability to pay.
