Join Michelle Ryan on Saturday afternoon, July 20th for a half day of mindful hiking and gentle yoga practices.Reconnect with our very special, gentle part of the planet by experiencing the woods and wilds of Western Massachusetts only 30 minutes from downtown Northampton. We'll gather at 12:30pm at Michelle's home in Chesterfield, then take a moderate hike upstream alongside the Bronson Brook.
Michelle will present participants with the opportunity to deepen their hiking experience with specific guided intentions to reconnect and increase mindfulness along the way. We will stop at a few lovely swimming holes, where if it's hot enough, we can jump in and cool off! Then we'll make our way back down the Brook to Michelle's home for a short break, to refresh and have some snacks and a beverage (provided by Michelle as part of the day!) We will end our afternoon with a brief gentle posture practice to unwind, ultimately finishing with deeply relaxing guided Yoga Nidra - otherwise known as "Yogic Sleep" - in the "Sacred Grove." This afternoon will be accessible for anyone who can safely walk a couple of miles - and you don't need to have yoga experience to participate! Address will be provided upon registration for this retreat. Please bring a mat if you have one (if you don't, please let Michelle know via email to arrange a mat - cost $5.) As well, all participants must remember it is New England, and should plan to dress for changes in the weather - wear layers, bring a bathing suit and towel if you plan to swim, and a sweater/coverup and socks for final rest in Yoga Nidra. |
